Crazy 2020 NFL Draft Prop Bets

The NFL will hold the first-ever virtual draft in league history on Thursday, April 23rd, 2020.

We will get to see most of the players’ homes and some of the GM’s as well. I’m sure plenty a lot of these old folks will have their hands full with the new technology.

The picks, the discussions on selecting the correct player, the trades, it all sets up for some exciting TV. The set up nearly guarantees either significant drama or a mishap on national TV.

Keep in mind the first round will start at 8:00 PM ET with NFL Network and ESPN in charge of the broadcast.

These are my favorite five crazy proposition bets for the 2020 NFL Draft:

Who will No. 1 overall pick hug first?

BET AT BetOnline draft Props
Mom -150
Dad +300
Girlfriend +300
Sibling +800
Friend +1000

Joe Burrow is likely to be the number one pick in the 2020 NFL draft. The odds are giving us Robin Burrow, his mother, as the favorite to get the first hug of the night. Yet, laying down $150 to win $100 for mom seems like a lot. As weird as that sentence sounds.

NFL prop bets are all about finding value. I can see Joe Burrow hugging his dad first, and at +300, I’m willing to take a shot at it. Jim Burrow was the only one on stage at the LSU’s senior night with Joe.

Mom is important, but Jim seems to be Joe’s number one fan.

Total cats shown during the first round:

BET AT BetOnline draft Props
Over 1 Cats -150
Under 1 Cats +110

I’m not a cat person, but it looks to me people who are cat owners usually have more than one.

I’m with laying -150 in this one because it’s all about the odds. I’m getting 32 opportunities to see two cats during a 3-4 hours broadcast. I like my chances.

Total dogs shown during the first round

BET AT BetOnline draft Props
Over 3½ Dogs -165
Under 3½ Dogs +125

Unlike cats, dogs make a lot of noise. Most families put their dogs in a separate room when a meeting or serious discussion is happening, and I can see the same rationalization for the NFL Draft 2020.

Plus, the number the oddsmakers are giving us is considerably higher than the number of cats shown. I’m taking UNDER 3.5 dogs with a good enough value of +125.

Highest number of people in the same room

BET AT BetOnline draft Props
Over 9.5 people -145
Under 9.5 people +105

Just days ago, Ohio State DE Chase Young mentioned he will have ten people in his house for the draft. Take a look:

Are all these people going to be on camera? Probably yes.

You are telling me a bunch of people close to Chase Young are going to be right there when he gets selected and avoid being on national TV? I’m not buying it.

Will any team not get pick in on time?

BET AT BetOnline draft Props
No -220
Yes +155

This prop bet has NY Giants or Detroit Lions written all over the place.

Look at Giants’ GM Dave Gettleman’s war room. He has papers all over his desk like it’s 1984.

These GMs are not equipped to deal with high-end technology. I’m taking my chances at someone screwing up and not sending a pick in on time. Heck, we have seen it in the past at traditional drafts with everyone in the same room.

Give me Yes at +155.
